Constructal Design of an Overtopping Wave Energy Converter Incorporated in a Breakwater

A numerical study was performed in the present work about an Overtopping Device Wave Energy Converter (OTD-WEC) with one and two ramps incorporated a real breakwater. The Constructal Design method applied to evaluate effects on average dimensionless overtopping flow of degrees freedom device ramps. In addition, comparison carried out among different geometry configurations OTD-WEC determine which presents best hydrodynamic performance. used JONSWAP spectrum multiphase Volume Fluid model. It also solved conservation equations for mass, momentum, equation transport volume fraction using Finite Method. Results showed that two-ramps configuration presented 6.48% higher than those obtained ramp. Present results theoretical recommendations influence complex four over performance integrated into east breakwater city São José do Norte, State Rio Grande Sul (RS), Brazil.
